'Containment' can be hung/positioned on the wall in multiple ways. The work has been presented on 'Mont Marte' stretched linen canvas (20809). There is not right way up or side view that is correct. This piece is therefore purposely versatile and has been inspired by themes of life around confinement, borders, risk, troubles and the journey of an adventurous life. We are unable to contain the weather and obstacles that come to us. We also can not contain our lives; no matter how hard we try. I am often trying to contain life via the creation of neat boundaries and borders, however, this is never a realistic approach when one reflects on a life that is an authentic, evolving and disrupted self. This piece reflects how I see the world within my need to contain and create distinct lines and borders to support my need to feel as if I am very ordered and can hide the authentic messiness that life is and should be.

Inspiration was gained from nearby fallen frangipani flowers in Sydney near my house. The fabulous frangipani is a stunning flower, which is often seen in the tropics and subtropics. It grows widely around the warmer parts of Australia, and it is a truly beautiful flower that smells so sweet. Each flower falls onto the ground in small clusters with perfect little individual flowers often alone and separate to the larger cluster, scattered beneath a frangipani tree like sleeping butterflies.

This drawing was inspired by the 2020 Australian bush fire crisis and its impact globally. The Bird represents a new breed of wildlife that has mutated into a new kind of species due to the ongoing global, climate change dilemmas we all face. The drawing is presented on artist's 100% cotton paper and requires framing. The artist has used pencil, charcoal, oil pastels and colored pencils. The Bird presents climate change as a discussion and visual focal point for any room. This unique, one off, stand-out piece would suit an art owner looking for a unique representation of an important topic.

This piece has been inspired by the Australian artist, Hilda Nicholas. The woman in a mask represents the many different lives, faces, images, identities and roles that women have and need to play on the stage of life. The 1900s were a time of great change for women but also it was a time for white female privilege. The mask represents how women have also hidden behind their 'whiteness' during suffrage times while 'other' women have continued to struggle for equal rights. The artwork also has elements of diverse artistic genres, which run through the background of the piece, such as indigenous painting, visual stone-age history and symbolism.

The Three Sisters has been inspired by my visit to the Netherlands. I lived and worked in Holland for three years. Tulips were abundant as were the many sister friends that I made in Holland.

This mixed media drawing was inspired by the 2020 Corona-virus outbreak and its impact globally. The flower has both male and female reproduction systems and can self-fertilize, representing a new breed of plant for survival from the ongoing global dilemmas we all face. The drawing is presented on high-quality linen canvas, ready for hanging. The use of pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, colored pencils, acrylic and water color paints have been used to allow for the art piece to feature in most rooms with a diverse range of decor. This is due to the artist's use of mixing black, white and bright primary colors. This stand-out piece would suit an art owner looking for a unique representation of a health, social and political event that creates a visual and highly contentious discussion point.

High quality artist's paper (100% cotton/200g/m) has been used. The painting is not framed so that the owner can decide on the frame type, texture and color to lift any room. The image is powerful but calming. Artist's inspiration was from a day at the beach and remembering youthful sunny days.
