How long have you been an artist?

I have been an artist for 5 years.

How did you get involved?

I started with intuitive art and abstract. From the age of five I loved to express myself through the artistic process. My art started with drawing and then into painting. From there I took classes to further develop my skill of both painting and drawing.

Have you entered any competitions or exhibitions? If so which ones?

I have entered two exhibitions, one was with Kiama Art Society, the other was to raise funds for The Drought Angels.

What do you love about art? What is your motivation?

I love expressing myself through colour and the flow of paint. I feel immense joy when it comes to allowing my inner soul to express itself through this creative, free style of expression we call art.

How would you describe your style?

My style I would call a free style, one that is not confined and without boundaries. I do tend however, to have very neat approach. The challenge has been to allow myself to create without the need for perfection as I believe this is something that cannot be attained. One can only do their best and continue to learn through the process of practising art on a daily basis.

Who/what are your influences?

I am very much influenced by artists who have a very free style. I love lots of colour in my work and so am very drawn to artwork which is expressive and filled with lots of colour.

What are some of your favourite personal works?

My favourite works are African Beauty, The Lollipop Topiary Trees and My Sunset Garden.

What is your creative process?

I tend to work with the paints and the canvas in a style that allows the process to unfold. Sometimes I have a plan other times I just let it flow. My process is a very deep one, in that, there are many tears shed and lots of emotions while I create.

What are your goals?

My goals are to keep painting and to keep doing what I love. As long as I can keep painting, I feel that I have accomplished my soul's purpose. I desire to be very successful in regard to becoming a well-known artist. I feel that nothing is more uplifting than knowing that people seek to have my art on their wall, and that the art I create moves people and stirs thought, emotion, deep discussion and contemplation.
